Some of the new features may be nice, but the NEW DESIGN IS TERRIBLE! I have to scroll over 3 screens or more to see the stuff, which was visible on one screen before! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!

I have funny impression that all this wasted space is just a placeholder for advertisments. This is the beginning of an end of last.fm...

Seriously guys, the new look of the site _SUCKS_ Horrible, you ruind last.fm with this crap.

I understand that you wanted to give it a new appearance, but for me, that was absolutely unneccesairy. Please give me the option to choose wheter I want this style or the old style, or simple delete this one.

And btw, GIVE ME BACK THE GODDAMNED "PAINT IT BLACK" OPTION!

i agree with the people who are basically saying new features = good, new layout = dreadful. it really is not good. the organisation is tits-up, the things you want to see are harder to find, it's slower, uglier and contains things (video links on your main page) that i can't believe the majority of people actually want to see.

the best compromise would surely be an option to change back to the old layout, but given the amount of time and investment that has most likely gone into this i can't really see that happening...

Just...

...installed the "Paint it Black" Greasemonkey plug-in (Firefox) and the new design looks neat in black. Have to say that the design don't look half as good in red...or pink as it almost looks like now. Maybe go for a darker red?

Somehow the News is at the bottom of the page. This makes sense because...?

The layout is sloppy. Everything is all over the place, with links top and on bottom - it's very confusing. And I can't find this elusive wiki that is mentioned right in the FAQs!!

Everything is white and makes me feel like the old site version was the new one and this version is a previous version. And we have no choice but to accept it? Hmm.

Why did anyone do this?? The page was muuuch better before. Not only that is was more compact, but was also better looking. Very dissapointing :-(

it isnn't that intuitive anymore, ok, but the worst thing is that the CHARTS got cut down to 15 TOP ARTISTS/TRACKS, and aren't the CHARTS the main thing last.fm is about???
If I would want another myspace, i'd go to myspace
But I want Last.fm, not MySpace !!!

The shoutbox does not need to take up so much space. I use this site for music, not for socializing or reading comments.

a few points... i've log on to last.fm a was like what the hack? last.fm no longer exists? some fan bought the site a make a blog from it?

'cause the new design is AWFUL... i can make something like that in photoshop in 10, 15 minutes... awful... without an idea, amateurish, non-functional...
we're in era of widesreen... so why <align="center">?? and those borders on the sides of the page?? WHY? there's so much space left!

AND WHERE THE PINK COLOR GOES??? (some says red...) I had associated last.fm as the exact pink color and now the whole image has gone...

The page looks so amateurish... A lot of stuff, but charts are too low... if it looks like facebook, why not to try the idea of changing the layout?

But i have to say... new functions are good... i like the library, Loved song displayed in the charts and settings for a few boxes...

but in that layout and that design???

Page like last.fm deserves MORE..................

Where did Web 2.0 customisation get lost here?

There is no real customisation - intuitively, and based on other web 2.0 websites, I expected to be able to change the order of the 'boxes' on the profile, shrink some. Crikey, even the BBC website is more flexible.

New features are good, but there should be an option to make them less prominent if we don't want to use them. I come to last.fm to look ay my weekly and overall charts, and they are now buried under a big box of stuff i just don't want.

And the shoutbox is huge. I liked it small and on the side. Be nice to have the option to do that.

Please, this could be really good, just make the interactivity a bit more up to date? Been waiting for this for a while and am a bit disappointed...

I agree. New features, I guess they're great but I've no interest in trying them because even being on the site irritates me. Whereas before, the last.fm site was a nice, clear and tranquil place to visit. The way it looked and felt was maybe 75% of why I loved being here.
I really hate the new layout, it's messy, it hurts my eyes and it seems like last.fm wants to look like myspace or something. Aaarghh!! :(

I love the new GUI!

I really love the new slick GUI! It’s pretty much what Yahoo! and Apple recommend as a standard, but that's totally fine.

Library should be in the right bar together with groups and the player. There's lots of unused space in there. Recent tracks should have the artist name in bold too or instead, or something, because it's annoying when I have to look really carefully to find out whose songs are playing. Maybe more groups and friends could be shown in the main profile page, because there really is space for it.
