Moderate tags for artists

  • Moderate tags for artists

Hi, I think it will be quite useful if people who manage bands have access to the moderation of the tags, in order to remove inappropriate tags that confuse the whole system to return wacky results.
  • This sounds like a good idea, but it is problematic and impractical in reality.

Tags are opinions. Who are you to say that someone's opinion is inappropriate or wacky? I've seen the senseless fights "This stuff is not metal!" "Yes, it is!"

Would you remove negative tags like "lame", "losers", "terrible in concert"? Or ambiguous tags like "boltonesque", "so bad its good"?

The best way to manage tags is to encourage your fans to use the tags you like more often. The system will wash itself out.

Deleting someone's opinion because, in your opinion, it's inappropriate... well, that's never a good idea.
  • that would delete the reason for tags entirely.

  • I think for the problem with "inappropriate" tags the library is really great because as soon as you tag a bands as "gay" it will also appear in your library and those people don't want these artists in their library, so I think the number of those kind of tags will decrease in the next time.
  • Funny thing: tracks/artists tagged with anti-tags already did wind up in ones library... and thus on ones radio-streams too...
Only now, with that big visible library, it also shows.
Remember to say "thank you" for the things you haven't had
