Hello you all, just happy to see the group existing. Mostly fan of hard science, galactic adventures and space operas, but curious of the other styles and writers. And don't forget : Iain M. Banks rules ! ;-)

Stopping by to see whether there're other EscapePod (http://escapepod.org) and/or PseudoPod (http://pseudopod.org) listeners out there. If you can't go a week without a dose of Steve Eley and Mur Lafferty either stop by and say hey.

He's written a wide range of different things... sci-fi, fantasy, space opera, humour, etc., But he's probably best known as one of the only authors of 'military science fiction' worth reading. I'm sure the TV series Firefly heavily borrowed from many of his ideas. Check out the novel Patriots and the Hammer Slammers stories / novels if you want to see what I mean (for example, The Sharp End). Some of his books can be found online at the Baen free library... www dot baen dot com slash library. I'd probably reccomend The Forlorn Hope, Grimmer Than Hell, or Hammer's Slammers, although it was his book of humourous short stories, All The Way to the Gallows, that originally got me hooked.
