木村カエラ (Kimura Kaela) (real name: Kaela Rie Kimura 木村カエラりえ), born October 24, 1984, is a British Japanese Rock singer, model and presenter. Born in Adachi, Tokyo, Japan to a British father and Japanese mother, Kaela started work as a model in 2002 for the Japanese idol magazine Seventeen. Her fresh look and personality took her on to present the popular Morning Television show ‘Saku Saku’ (April 14, 2003 - March 31, 2006).

From there she gained more public exposure; she released her debut single ‘Level 42’ on June 23 2004, which was used as the ending music for ‘Saku Saku’. Her debut album ‘KAELA’ followed in December 8 of the same year. Her fanbase grew considerably after her third single “Rirura Riruha” (リルラ リルハ, “Real Life Real Heart”) which was used in a series of Vodafone commercials in Japan made her a household name.

Kaela’s latest release, the studio album “Scratch”, is her most successful so far. The album, released on February 7th 2007, reached #1 in the Oricon charts for two consecutive weeks after its release, selling close to 200,000 copies on its first week.
