At the age of 14, Jeong Hyeon-Cheol (Taiji) participated in several amateur rock bands. In 1990, at the age of 17, he was recruited into the underground metal group Sinawe (pronounced shee-nah-wee). Taiji chose to drop out of school, a system that he felt did nothing but corrupt the minds of youth, and became a professional musician.
After the break up of Sinawe in 1991, Taiji switched gears and formed the dance group Seo Tai-ji and Boys (서태지와 아이들) with dancers Lee Ju-no and Yang Hyeon-seok.
The introduction of the first Seo Taiji and Boys album announced a complete shift in the focus of popular Korean music that is still felt today. Their first single, “Nan Arayo” (난 알아요, “I Know”) was a hugely successful hit, being one of the first songs in K-Pop to meld contemporary dance sounds with urban-influenced rap lyrics.
Seo Tai-ji and Boys broke up in 1996 after four wildly successful studio and two hugely popular live albums. Tai-ji disappeared from the music scene for the next two years, moving to New York City, living a low profile life, and working on his come-back.
In 1998, Taiji returned to the music scene with his first solo album, Seo Tai-ji. His self-produced album continued with his long established sound of mixing contemporary American rock and pop music with Korean vocals. His comeback album, while not a huge success, put him back onto the path of greatness.

Ehh. BERMUDA [TRIANGLE] isn't going to be released on CD. It's almost like Watchout. Only used as a gift/promo. But it'll turn up soon when all of the cellphones get sold.

All I know right now is he is possibly re-releasing all of his albums (Solo and with STJ and boys) I believe he's doing his first two albums at once then the rest will be subsequently released one after the other on a monthly basis (possibly?) I don't know when though. Also the showing for his cellphone line is Sept. 30th and he's appearing on Lee Juk's radio show and they will probably be playing a full version of Bermuda Triangle so keep an eye out for the song around then!

Watchout Man! was a "gift" to his fans @ the 04 ETPFEST I believe. I don't actually know how it was released but for the longest time I had a MV rip of it but you can get it in high quality with his 15th anniversary CD thing.

Thanks, ScreamLab! I hope the symphony branches out to London.... Another question: What exactly is the Watch Out song? Is it a b-side from one of the albums? Was it ever released other than as a music video? I can't find it anywhere. Also, is there a release date for his 8th album, or not yet? Thanks!

Holy shit, the preview for his next title single is upped on a few korean sites. It's called BERMUDA [TRIANGLE] Fucking sexy. And according to Soompi's STJ thread he's reprinting his old albums (all of them)

I think that he's only played in Japan and Vladivostok. I hear rumors his Symphony will make it's way to London England but..I haven't seen conformation.

Does anyone know if Seo Taiji has ever played any concerts outside of korea? He played at Vladivostok once, didn't he, but any other places, apart from there? Thanks!

Don't know I hear around August 26th for ETPFEST but I doubt that. I suspect in Sept. And for his symphony I doubt that will be until October
