Adele Laurie Blue Adkins (Born 5 May 1988 in London, United Kingdom) is an English soul singer/songwriter from Tottenham, London. Signed to XL Recordings, a music label which primarily focuses on independent talents within Britain, Adele manages to incorporate a variety of flavours into her music, incredibly striking many people with her ability to vocalise lyrics with an extremely soulful voice accompanied by her jazzy beats.
Frequently touted as the UK’s next big thing after Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen’s respective breakthroughs, Adele has received wide praise from industry insiders and music critics even before she’s released her first record. She is the first recipient of the Brit Awards Critics’ Choice prize and in January 2008, was voted first in the influential BBC’s Sound of 2008 poll. She is also one of the few acts to have performed on the long-running music television show, Later with Jools Holland, prior to a proper album release.

I agree mrsands91, she shouldn't be being compared to Amy Winehouse.. Simply because her voice is as different as it is. Adele has a stunning voice, and i can listen to her music over and over and never get bored. I just love Chasing Pavements, and Hometown Glory <3
