Angélique Kidjo is probably the most successful musician from Benin on the world stage. Her infectiously energetic music combines African rhythms with European production and captures listeners who don’t understand the lyrics, which may be in any of a number of languages. On her later albums, she has explored the connections between African music and the music of Brazil and the Caribbean. With her desire to succeed and grow in the music industry, she was discovered by the Cameroonian superstar, Ekambi Brillant, who took Kidjo to cameroon, same place where she debuted her music career. She flows with the melodious beats of the Sawa people from the coast of cameroon in the province of Littoral.
