“Avantasia” is the side-project of the “Edguy”-singer Tobias Sammet, founded in 1999. He published two concept albums (“The Metal Opera”, “The Metal Opera Pt. II”), which structures are very similar to the one of an opera. Both can be classified with power metal and/or symphonic metal. After the second album, Sammet announced that he would not publish any more Avantasia albums. However, in January 2008 a third album was released, titled “The Scarecrow”, musically belonging to hard rock rather than to Power Metal. On November 16th 2007 two 6 tracks albums “Lost In Space part 1” and “Lost In Space part 2” have been released, each containing 5 tracks only available on these EP’s.

Yep its my opinion...but I must say I feel kinda sad for you if you say you'll listen to studio albums if you look for perfection. I've seen many bands in my life and there are more then enough bands who give away perfect live shows that come close to studio work. I'm really fond of Kamelot and Symphony X who, what I've seen, give away awesome live shows. Sure, they have a mistake here and then, but not this kind of mistakes Avantasia (meaning not only the musicans) made during WOA. And I know the mic thing isn't their fault, but that doesn't make it "the best show at wacken". Not even close. It was crappy, it would've been crappy for all bands, but especially X-tra crappy is this case because Avantasia doesn't do much live shows. I'm not angry at any of the band members or something, it wasn't their fault. But this was just a terrible shame of what could've been a fantastic show.
