Journey with Cheap Trick
5 Oct 2008, 21:04 by clubmimi
Fri 3 Oct – Journey, Cheap Trick
It was pretty amazing. I had never been to a show like it.
Cheap Trick started the show with a couple of songs that we know that are on shows like "That 70's Show". It was pretty good cos one of the dudes had different guitars for each song.
This was interesting watching Journey cos it wasn't the regular lead singer. It was some new *cute* asian guy.
I totally will go to another show in my area. Fun with friends and such. I especially liked
Lights and
Don't Stop Believin'. They played a lot of songs from their new album, Revolution.

Fri 11 Jul – Journey, Heart, Cheap Trick
What a night, what a night! Journey, Heart, and Cheap Trick together for one spectacular show at USANA Amphitheater!
We entered the grounds at about 6:30, bought myself a shirt, got some drinks and then met up with two other friends. By now Cheap Trick had already taken the stage and performed two songs, none of which I knew, so it didn't hurt my feelings all that much. The rest of Cheap Trick's set was great, they played mainly hits off their 'Budokan' album, and it was great. The overall sound wasn't that great though, it sounded tinny and kinda distorted. But, they were good none the less.
Heart came on next, and they are great! Ann Wilson can still sing amazingly, and Nancy Wilson is an amazing guitarist. They several hits, as well as a couple of The Who and Led Zeppelin covers. They ended with everyone's favorite 'Crazy on You'.
Finally it was time for Journey! Oh, my God I love these guys! You could tell most of the crowd (including me) was there mainly for Journey just by the reaction when the lights went out and they began the intro to the first song. Arnel Pineda, is an amazing vocalist, frighteningly similar to Steve Perry, but also good enough to be able to put his own spin on things. He is crazy on stage, running to all the different sides, jumping off the drum riser, and doing a David Lee Roth-esque jumping splits! They played all their hits, and I think 5 songs off their new album Revelation, which is a great album! The sound was really good for the most part, at some points the lyrics were hard to hear, but overall it was great! My only complaint was that they had Don't Stop Believin' right in the middle of the set, and Ask The Lonely was like the 3rd or 4th song in! Too early for me! And they finished off the night with Faithfully, leaving the stage with blue lights flooding the crowd, and singing along to the 'ooohs' until it faded to black. Best way to end!
It was an amazing concert and night! -
