There is more than one artist with the name ‘Counterstrike’:
1. Counterstrike (Algorythm Recs/Obscene Recs/Moving Shadow Recs/Renegade Hardware/Barcode Recs/Evol Intent Recs) also known as Animal Chin and 500 Mills, have been active drum ‘n bass DJ’s on the club/rave circuit since the mid Nineties playing all over South Africa and abroad in countries like Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Portugal, England, Germany, Norway, Poland, Belgium, Holland, Austria, Denmark, Slovakia, Switzerland and the USA. Counterstrike has been producing drum ‘n bass as a collective since 1998. They’ve had over 40 12” vinyl releases on various high profile labels and re-launched their own imprint, Algorythm Recordings, internationaly in 2005.
Their musical sound can be described as a cunning blend of sharp jungle-beats and basslines combined with high-range trance-ish leads.
2. Counterstrike is also a Polish heavy metal band from Bialystok, founded in 2006 by bassist/songwriter Przemyslaw Przytulo. Currently, the band has two active members (along with Maciej Rusiniak on guitar), relying on help of guest musicians and session members.
