20.
Women in Docs One of their best songs that they sing live is their cover of
Bob Dylan's Wagon Wheel, but they still have yet to put it on a recording.
19.
Radiohead Hmm, it was tough to come up with one for them. First, I said they were too mainstream, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Then I said that some of their songs are kind of weird, but their eccentricity and experimental nature is exactly why I like them. But then I remembered that they appeared on an episode of South Park, and I hate that show. So there you go.
18.
The Beatles Their song
Yellow Submarine was stupid.
17.
University of Notre Dame Folk Choir
I only like them when I'm in the mood to listen to church music, which is generally only on Sundays or when I'm trying to pray or meditate.
16.
Kristin Chenoweth She can be kind of an annoying blonde flake sometimes. And c'mon, she was a beauty queen and a sorority sister when she was younger- sheesh.
15.
Erin McKeown Sometimes she says stupid stuff at her live shows- like the time when she dedicated a song to her husband of 25 years even though she's 30 years old and a lesbian!
14.
The Paperboys They keep changing the lineup of their band, and have almost completely different musicians for each album, which is confusing.
13.
Ennis Sisters Ocassionally, they can be a little too happy-fluffy-Hallmark-cheery.
12.
Jewel Her album
0304- need I say more!
11.
Jonathan Larson I never speak ill of the dead.
10.
Sarah McLachlan Her music can be too sleepy- quiet sometimes.
9.
Jake Armerding Nothing wrong with his
music, but he really should have changed his name to something easier to spell and pronounce before he started his musical career.
8.
Nerissa & Katryna Nields And speaking of artists with confusing names! Why do they release some albums as
Nerissa & Katryna Nields and some as
The Nields? They should just stick to one or the other. Yes, I understand the whole band vs. duo thing, but Nerissa and Katryna were the frontwomen for the band, and when they perform as a duo, it's just like they are doing an acoustic show. Plus, everyone still calls them the Nields.
7.
Vienna Teng See
Sarah McLachlan (number 10).
6.
Idina Menzel She sold out by signing with Warner Brothers and changing her style to appeal to a younger audience.
Still I Can't Be Still was original, creative, experimental, and innovative, while
I Stand, sounds like something an American Idol finalist would release.
5.
Indigo Girls I wasn't crazy about
Come On Now Socialand even
Become Youleft something to be desired.
4.
Vonda Shepard She keeps pushing back the release date of her new album. I wouldn't mind, but we've been hearing about this new CD for over 2 years, and now we're hearing it won't be released until September- grr. (Don't get me wrong, I'll still buy it when it finally is available, but it's so frustrating!)
3.
The Nields See #8.
2.
Dar Williams She's not a very good guitar player- which is fine by me because even a beginner guitarist like me can play her songs without much effort. But I guess it does undermine her credibility as a musician.
1.
Rachael Sage There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with Rachael Sage whatsoever! She is the BEST!!! Well, okay....
Ballads & Burlesque wasn't as good as her other CD's. However, it is by no means a poor album! It's actually quite good, just not up to par compared to some of the other AMAZING records she has released, such as
The Blistering Sun,
Chandelier, and
Morbid Romantic.
