DAY ONE.
Danny and I met long before our musical involvement. While I dated his sister, he played bass with Lords of the Manor, along with Matt 1, our legendary first drummer (his legend having many facets, nooks, and crevices which baffle and perplex, earning him a numerical identifier based on eccentricity).
Fast forward through time, only a literary luxury…
Fallout with sister. Initiated by my decision to attend college in San Francisco… Propelled by music’s vice grip… Encouraged by my top secret, ever-faithful mentor…
I studied in the theatre, enriching my knowledge of the arts, reading Artaud and performing Racine. I dabbled in Philosophy, reading the first couple of pages of Plato, Hegel, Bagel, and Cream Cheese. I had numerous fantastical love affairs with some of the finest nude models I’d ever seen in my father’s porn collection. I turned my focus to art, to music, to creation. I studied audio engineering, principles of sound, psycho-acoustics, the terra-formation of the mind.
In the meantime, Danny had quit Lords to pursue other interests. His mind had been recoiling from conventional music- ghastly refuse and decay, failed attempts by the recording industry to market CRAP to it’s legions of polite observers. I won’t mention any names. Danny aimed (unpretentiously I might add, he’s the humblest guy I know) at starting an Industrial Band; an ensemble group using unconventional instrumentation which would thrive in a studio environment.
