Hayden
On Tour705,400 plays (43,889 listeners)
Following over a year of touring and promotion, Hayden closed the book on chapter one of his music career. It wasn’t until 2001 that he returned with the wonderful “Skyscraper National Park” (Hardwood/Universal). Recorded at his home studio, it is filled with a warmth and beauty that was felt by music lovers everywhere. During the final stages of touring “Skyscraper…”, Hayden recorded an intimate hometown performance, which was released as a double record in 2002. “Live at Convocation Hall” reveals Hayden at his purest, with just his voice, guitar and harmonica.
“Elk-Lake Serenade,” released in the spring of ’04, continued where “Skyscraper National Park” left off. Sparse fingerpicked ballads mix with full band rock songs to create a very full and rewarding listening experience. Pianos, pedal steel, and strings accent Hayden’s guitar and piano playing, while his stories of life and loss shine through.
Currently, Hayden is putting the finishing touches on his new album, scheduled for release internationally in 2008. In November, Hayden begins a month long European tour in Belgium as special guests of The National.

Agreed. Hayden is inhaling the steam from an earthen mugful of herbal tea in a winter cabin, eyes closed.

Just saw him here in Atlanta, GA USA at a local place called The 5 Spot. I won the tickets at 3am from our college station. I didn't really know what to expect because I'd never heard his music... I WAS BLOWN AWAY. The the band that backed him up, Cuff the Duke, contributed a lot of added depth power to all of the songs. I hate to compare, but it reminded me of what Wilco might sound like if Clem Snide where their vocalist. Anyways. Great musicians, great sound, great show!

Saw him open for Feist in Buffalo!! Fell in love with him, probably because like I he is Canadian. I could tell right away, I even called that he was the same university, Ryerson. I hope to catch him more often in Toronto!

Does anyone know the title of his song where he's singing about how he got robbed while he was recording a song upstairs? I saw him last night and that one really caught my ears!

I saw Hayden opening for Feist in Asheville, NC. I wasn't really into it at first, but he definitely won me over. He was surprisingly funny talking in between songs.

Saw him in St. Louis Saturday, it was awesome but I wish he could have played more, but had to make way for Feist, who was also awesome. Pretty great and fun show if you can catch it, they have a few more concerts left!
