Well, I heard the Joe Jackson version not long after it was first released, so perhaps I am biased, but I don't think Tori's cover is anywhere close to being as good as what Joe Jackson does with this song. I have to agree with Nerdork, Joe is more heartfelt and believable.

I think Tori weakens it somewhat by flubbing the all the gays are macho line (her version makes no sense). Not to mention, Joe sounds (understandably) more earnest. I like the Tori version well enough, but she's done much more imaginative covers.
