In 2002 he left The Netherlands to live and work in the United States where he works on soundtracks for movies and computer games.
He uses the name “JXL” in those cases where the term Junkie might cause offense.
Some of his better-known songs include:
* Today (the title track from his 2006 release Today)
*
* A Little Less Conversation (remix of Elvis Presley’s original)
* Zerotonine (featured on Dave Seaman’s Global Underground 016: Cape Town)
* Beauty Never Fades (feat. Saffron of Republica, featured in a promotional video of the game EvE-Online)
* Breezer (with Sasha, featured on Deep Dish’s Global Underground 025: Toronto)
* Obsession (with DJ Tiësto)
* Feuer frei! (Rammstein vs. Junkie XL remix) (B-side on Rammstein’s Feuer frei! single)
* Crusher (feat. Saffron of Republica) - Theme song of Quantum Redshift
* Outrageous (JXL Remix) on the Limited Edition of Britney Spears’ Greatest Hits: My Prerogative Album with the Bonus Remix CD.

Some help please, what album is most similar to Booming Back at You? His softer stuff seems more generic, I want those great bass sounds and the mean base :D

Check out "Nerve" (http://www.last.fm/music/Nerve) if you want some pre-Junkie material by Tom Holkenborg. Be prepared for some industrial metal. Phill Mills was also in this combo.

@6630RPY My first JXL cd was "Big Sounds of Drags". I got "Saturday Teenage Kick" afterwards, and I'm glad I did. If things had gone the other way I probably would have enjoyed "Big Sounds" less. The thing about JXL is that he's very willing to change sounds from album to album (even song to song if you look at the "Radio JXL" set). This is great if you like a variety of sounds and styles but if you prefer artists that 'know their neighbourhood and like to stay home' then album hopping with JXL might be a touch surprising for you. I'd say go with "Saturday Teenage Kick", then you can hear the beginning of his sound. [I own or have listened to all the JXL albums except "Today" and the NFS: Pro Street soundtrack. So I cannot comment on those 2 albums.] Good luck in your search!
