  • 1 mile north

    16 Dec 2008, 03:36 by eshkubeshku

This week's main entry is 1 Mile North's 'Minor Shadows' from 2003. Quite ambient sounding post-rock, sort of a darker, slower version of The Album Leaf. The kind of music that makes you think of deserted seashores and gray skies, like a shuttered tourist town in the off season. This is good listening in those quiet, introspective moments. Also listened to another chillout session 'Lounge Burlesque'. Keep making CD's like this for a friend of mine in the military. She likes it so it's all fine by me. Last is the first volume of Verve Jazz Masters, Louis Armstrong's...well...Jazz Master's 1. What can I say about Louis, he's an icon. Trumpet, singing, Hello Dolly, it's all there and it's all remastered so it's sounding pretty good. There's 60 volumes in the set so I have 59 more to write about. That won't happen overnight.1 Mile NorthLouis Armstrong

  • ☺ Shit, I fell in love with metalcore ☺

    6 Dec 2008, 05:45 by Fulvian

or are they no longer metalcore?

Whatever, The Dream is completely pwning me LOLOLOLOL

Finally this dude chick (who really loves to lift her skirt up in front of the photographers) has developed her own vocals style, her harsh vocals are improving and her clean vocals are fantastic, yay yay yay less boring screams a la metalcore!

I really hope they keep this style in the future, I don't want another Walls of Jericho copy -_-

P.S.: If You don't know In This Moment, here's a scary pic:

and don't forget that The Dream is one of those fully streamable albums, so You can check it out straight away.

  • trzeszczący przytup zimy.

    22 Nov 2008, 16:34 by marrrysia

Kto by zresztą wytrzymał, będąc na moim miejscu?

Doboru piosenek z lat dwudziestych, trzydziestych, czterdziestych, a nawet i pięćdziesiątych dokonał Piotr Kaczkowski. I uczynił to fenomenalnie - piosenki to takie małe perełki, swego czasu szlagiery, choć obecnie nieco zapomniane. Wprowadzają w lekko bajkowy, odrealniony świat. Idealne na jesienne zawieruchy, deszczowe wieczory, pierwsze śnieżne noce. I do ubierania choinki pewnie też się nada ;)

  • CD of the week (17-23.XI.2008): The Best of Bond... James Bond

    17 Nov 2008, 08:33 by RadioFabryka

"My name is Bond, James Bond".

  • My trumpeting trinity

    16 Nov 2008, 22:50 by Eyoki

Three trumpeters i never grow tired of: Maurice André, Louis Armstrong and Roy Eldridge. Such different artists with such different styles: the first pure and golden, the second earthy and humble, while the third is just so... elusive . I've been searching for words to describe the magic of Roy Eldridge, but they're just not coming.

    My trumpeting trinity.
