Marmaduke Duke is a conceptual rock duo from Ayrshire, Scotland. It is the side project of the two leading members of Scottish Alternative Rock bands, JP Reid of Sucioperro and Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro.

Reportedly, the duo formed sometime in 2003, but because of being busy with their own bands, from releasing and recording albums and touring, it took until 2005 for the bands first, in a trio of concept albums, to be released. This album was named ‘The Magnificent Duke’ and is an immense 18 tracks in length. It is to be followed by Duke Pandemonium, a release date has not yet being confirmed, and finally Death of the Duke with an unknown recording or release date.

Sadly, Duke Pandemonium might never see the light of day. Biffy Clyro's new record label owns everything Simon creates (apparently), so Captains Of Industry was not allowed to let the album through, even though it has been finished long time ago. I guess The Dragon is the one who should be pissed off about this...

I got the promo from their promoter for £2. It came with a booklet explaining the band's origins and styles. It's well funny, because it's just full of fake names and stuff. It also gave me a list of songs suitable for radio play. They must have thought I was some kind of DJ =/

This reminds me of when I listened to Vertigo of Bliss when it came out and was kind of perplexed by it. Except after 2-3 full listens I am realising the quality of work here. Impressive and more diverse than Biffy (Older Biffy), I will definitely be keeping my eyes on this, guess i'll have to check out sucioperro now to.
