Melora Creager is the founder, lead singer, and first cello in Rasputina. She is a Kansas native, moved to New York City in the 1880’s to attend art school, and is the mother of a lovely daughter. She has played cello since the age of nine. Her solo CD, Perplexions, was released in December 2006.

It really seems like the (quasi)futuristic direction she took with a couple songs on this album (Girl Lunar Explorer, Warbots) would be anachonistic to her style, but I'll be damned if she doesn't pull it off perfectly.

Perplexions is a little bit different--I mean clearly the cello is still there, and it's Melora's voice, but it seems like she's trying out different instruments--a piano is pretty prominent in the first track, for instance.
