Mikael Simpson began his career as a guitarist and lead singer in the indie-band Luksus (with other members including Lise Westzynthius).
Luksus disolved in 2001, but Mikael went on to play in Rhonda Harris together with Nikolaj Nørlund.
In 2002, he made his first solo album “OS 2 + Lidt Ro
2002”.
And later in 2004, “De Ti Skud” came out. Both albums where recorded in Mikael Simpson’s bedroom studio.
In 2005 he received two “Steppeulve” (a danish music award) and awards for “best album of the year” and “composer of the year”.
Later he released a mixing album called “B-sider, Udtag og Meget Triste Radiomix”, that contained many mixes of songs from “De Ti Skud”, which really didn’t bring much news to the table, except for a few songs such as: Supernat and Knæk (nummer 2).
In 2006 Mikael Simpson released the album “Stille og Uroligt”, which, once again, took home many awards such as two Steppeulve (Best song, and best album).
Mikael Simpson continues to be the most innovative artist in the field of Danish electronic music, and with his dazzling song lyrics he will properly continue to impress many year into the future.
