San Francisco, United States (early 80's – 1989)
The band started when Jack Blades (bass/lead vocals), Jeff Watson (guitarist/singer), Brad Gillis (guitarist/singer), and Kelly Keagy(drummer/lead singer) joined forces in San Francisco in the early ‘80s with keyboardist Alan Fitzgerald (Sammy Hagar, Montrose) to launch Night Ranger. The group drew the attention of legendary promoter Bill Graham and was soon appearing in concert with major artists such as the The Doobie Brothers, Santana, Rick Springfield, and Judas Priest.
In 1982, Neil Bogart signed the band to Boardwalk Records and the group debuted with the Top 40 album Dawn Patrol, whose single “

STOP FUCKING TAGGING THEM HAIR METAL. They aren't. They're not even metal, they're ARENA ROCK (eg Boston, Styx, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, Journey, etc.)

Brad Gillis was Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist after Randy Rhoads died, he finished the tour and was on the live album, Speak of the Devil which was all old Black Sabbath songs, then went back to Night Ranger.

Typical. Syster Christian has a gazillion listens, the rest of their stuff almost none. I personally HATED that song when it came out, still do. And NR was huge in the 80s rock scene. Only 111K scrobbles? How quickly we forget.

There's nothing wrong with a bit of hair :)

mikeroach113 wrote:
Night Ranger ISN'T hair metal, dammit! They're arena rock just like Styx and Journey and Boston and all the bands like that! Plus there's 5 members in the band, and two of them have short hair. Anyway, the new pic is alot better, because it's all 5 members, and it's better overall and doesn't give off the wrong impression.
