Not all, I bought Rush's Permanent Waves 7 or 8 years ago and I still enjoy it as much as I did back then and I'll probably keep playing it for a long time. The fact that you haven't listened to an album worth more than a couple of spins doesn't mean they don't exist.

Ugh, Amaranth has the most listeners, yet it is one of the worst songs on this album. Figures.

If you guys got the Audio DVD of it, with a little work you can have two versions of this album (one with only the orchestra, one with only the band). The orchestral version of Sahara is simply incredible.

I partly like this album. The Poet and the Pendulum is one of the best songs I've ever heard and I also like that Marco sings much more as in the time with Tarja. He's great. :)

I don't have a problem with people saying they don't like this album, or Anette. But I find it ludicrous to suggest that a change in singers changes the genre of the band! What about the other 80% of the band? Dark Passion Play is no more Pop then Once. Both follow a similar direction.

Great album, though it would be awesome if they would had replaced Whoever brings the Night with While your Lips are still red :f

Melodic and "pop" vocals as people describe them are better for the genre, anyway.
-
Rozen-rot wrote:
Alas the vocals do not make the band. Having a weak 'poppy' voice is not enough to counteract the actual musical instruments, the drums and guitars are far to heavy for rock, and their mere presence would rule out the pop label. So, yup, still metal, no matter how hard you complain that you don't like the new album, that doesn't actually affect the genre. Also Nightwish were always on the softer less extreme side of metal, so no change there. Further 'pop' voices can and do work in several metal bands. This is metal, have no doubt sourgrapes.

Gowienczyk wrote:
It is Nightwish, just because they changed some elements for one album doesn't mean shit, really. Let them experiment with some rock structures here and there. Sheesh. Also, lol @ calling Annete weak. She is similar to a good field of power metal singers. Bah. As much as I like defending the album: you guys fucking whine too much!
