Oh No Ono is a quintet from Aalborg, Denmark. The band was formed in 2003 by Kristoffer Rom (drums), Aske Zidore (guitar, vocals, samples), Kristian Olsen (keyboards etc.) and Malthe Fischer (vocals, guitar and samples). All with different musical backgrounds that span from classical, country, rock and punk.
The band, who since the beginning has grown from 4 to 5 members (with the adding of Nis Svoldgaard on bass), has mixed old virtues with a modern sound and production and in that way they have created a mix of alternative pop, electroclash, funk and New Wave even though it is impossible to categorize Oh No Ono’s music in that manner. The vocal of Malthe Fischer moves in an insisting way on top of a collage of synthesizers, organ, syncopated guitars, slap bas and a tight cyberfunky groove, and the many musical changes, samples and synthesizers makes one long to hear their songs over and over again. The music of Oh No Ono is characterized by an overwhelming amount of ease, creativity and straightforwardness above the usual. ”Yes” is produced by Jesper Mortensen & Oh No Ono and it is recorded in Deltalab, Thomas Troelsens studio where some the most recognized Danish and international artist have recorded their material.

Saw these guys the other night in Manchester, there was one bit towards the end where the drum effects just sounded amazing, only lasted a few seconds but it seriously made my hair stand on end. Anyone know what song this could have been?

Great performance at De Beschaving guys :D Too bad you could only do 1 more song, due to the performace after you. Wished you could've played the two songs you intended to :D

I love them but the problem is that they really start to annoy me if I listen to them for too long. I don't think I've ever heard the last song of Yes..

The UK and USA seem to have run dry in comparison.. And to those who despise them, try looking under the surface of style for once!
