Phish
On Tour4,904,294 plays (134,333 listeners)
Burlington, Vermont, United States (1983 – 2000, 2002 – 2004, 2009 – present)
Although the group received little radio play or MTV exposure, Phish developed a large following by word of mouth. Phish’s music has elements of many genres including jazz, bluegrass, country, heavy metal, reggae, folk, rock, ska, pop, blues, progressive rock, show tunes, classical, acoustic, barber shop quartet and calypso. The band performed 226 originals (of the 234 they penned) and 383 covers for a total of 609 songs.
While often compared to the Grateful Dead, Phish finds their roots in jazz as opposed to the Dead who were more influenced by American Blues.
Each Phish concert was different in terms of the songs included and the order in which they appeared, and (for many songs) in the way in which they were performed.
Including Grateful Dead, moe., Umphrey's McGee, Trey Anastasio, The String Cheese Incident and more…

Yah. Can't wait for Hampton. Right in time for my birthday. They have to release live discs of those shows. Otherwise, all is still lost.

I am pretty sure Anastasio broke up the band because of his shitty tour etiquette. When you are in a band you play music, not get shitfaced every night.

Yeah really. They went on way after Jerry left us.

WTF are you talking about Charden?

Charden wrote:
You're right. They can probably pull it off without Jerry Garcia. However Trey Anastasio should stay far away from this project if this tour is going to have any success.

hey, if you guys are coming to our town for the Phish concert, you'd better book quick. I work at a hotel about 15 minutes from the Hampton Coliseum (where they're playing in March) and we had about 25 reservations come in the morning the announcement was made. Hopefully the owner hasn't found out yet and jacked up the prices. We're selling our rooms from $69-$89 in March '09. We're like 1-of-3 nice hotels that will sell at that rate. Everyone else is $20-$30 a night higher. Send me a private message if you want more info.
