About this album
Some say this is Roger Waters solo album with the rest of Pink Floyd as a support band, though the great guitar work of Gilmour is certainly adding to the strength of the album.
For those who loved the psychedelic work of the early PF this record must be a disappointment, there are no long compositions, no sound scapes; its a full blown rock album. with some typical 80s influence such as background quires and saxophone solos…
But… still it is one of their and not only their greatest albums.

most emotive floyd album. Another master piece

So much passion and emotion was put into this album, Roger really lets it all out. Great album.

Growing on me a bit, but still not one of their best.

but this album is also very good, just very different from the division bell. Waters is a genius

in the description it states: 'this is the last Waters and Pink Floyd album.' Indeed it is the last waters album with the floyd but it WASN't the last pink floyd album. Hate it when they say that, The Division Bell is also a fantastic PFalbum!!

Probably one of Floyd's most extreme albums, you either love it or hate it. I guess I came from the disbelievers front, though after some time in grew into me. Their most political and most haunting album, scary till the very end. Check the video on PF's site too: http://www.pinkfloyd.co.uk/theFinalCut/

The singer? His name is Roger. He usually sings like that, especially on his solo work.

Least favorite. What I hate the most is the singer's style in this, it's all whispery and over-anunciated(sp), not pleasant at all to listen to.

One of the worst Pink Floyd albums, but I think the songs show a lot of potential. Could have been better.

This and The Wall are my least favorite Pink Floyd albums. Somehow I keep coming back to listen to the final cut though. It's very catchy.

I love it when Gilmour solos on this album

The Final Cut is Roger Water's finest opus. Although there is much skeptism and critism on this album, I feel that this album manages to hit the chords of good good music. A gorgeous collection of deeply moving songs about an emotionally disturbed man, I have never found such a real album such as this one. Perhaps that is why people don't appreciate this Floyd, it is very poetic and passionate.
