this is not trip-hop, this is not-electronic, and i don't know what 'alternative' means, but i can listen, and i hear a minimalist ("small"?) song which transforms into some kind of neo-psychedelic waltz (melodically resembling 'set the controls for the heart of the sun' from pink floyd). this album is a post-modern 'saucerful of secrets', and no tags will help ... portishead is faster than the crowd changes perceptions.
