R. Crumb and his Cheap Suit Serenaders are a loosely organized string band playing songs from the 1920s and (occasionally) modern songs styled after the songs of the ’20s. They recorded three albums in the ’70s and occasionally are active today, though usually without Mr. Crumb whom now lives in France.

The band currently includes Bob Armstrong (vocals, saw, guitar), Bob Brozman (vocals, various steel instruments, guitar, ukulele), Al Dodge (vocals, mandolin), Terry Zwigoff (saw, cello, Stroh fiddle, and mandolin), and Tony Marcus (vocals guitar and fiddle).
