Aardvarked- it's not a crap album just because it's a different style to what he used to do, it's crap because he's not any good at writing in this style. it's a shit album, plain and simple. if it had been released by anyone else it still would've been shit.

Quality is there, you just don't like the pop/singer songwriter direction. Pretty ignorant bullshit to be saying "nothing to do with rjd2", it's his music - what other connections do you want? Great album, shame fans are so fickle they can't even respect somebody wanting to take a new direction, sad shit.

Il est bien seul dans sa Boue pop-chiante masturbatoire. Il faut qu'il change de nom s'il doit changer autant de style, sinon c'est de l'arnaque. le trip pop le plus solitaire depuis scalde dans nos region.

well, this album is not worth it all. it's pure pop and has nothing to do with RJD2 in my eyes. no idea why he went that way. of course - yes - changes are always welcome, but only if quality stays the same. couldn't say that for the third hand :(

Heavy beach boys & beatles influence, I like it. Thought it was pretty crap the first time I listened to it but came back to it after a few months and now I'm really liking it. I can see why a lot of rjd2 fans wouldn't like it as it's quite a lot different to his older stuff but it works for me.

well, since we last spoke does sound a lot like the Third Hand, but on the Third Hand he added his own vocals, which have been damned by the majority of RJ's listeners. I'd say you'll get used to the album, if you get over the vocals

Damn, guys, it's not THAT bad. Sure, it's not as good as Dead Ringer or Since We Last Spoke, but it's interesting and creative. Stop being such dicks.

The previous comments about this album forced me to write my first comment ever on last.fm after more than two years as a completely silent member of the the community. At first I didn't really enjoy this album. I was expecting hip-hop/ambient beats with a resemblance to dj shadow and other hip-hop geniuses. It's now been about 2 months since I first heard the album. I think I haven't heard a song

from it for almost a month. I put it it on tonight and I finally get it. This isn't 'trip-hop' or hip-hop. If that's all you're looking for you'll be disappointed. This is so much more. A blend of Sgt. Pepper and DJ Shadow. It's great rock/pop/hip-hop and I've grown to love every song on the album in less than an hour now. Give it a chance. If you don't like it at all now.

Forget about it for a month and come back and try again. Perhaps with a wider perspective or just a tad bit more alcohol in your body ;). Best regards Ooze.

I downloaded this hoping it wasn't the indie RJD2. Bad way to be introduced to a artist that I've heard so many good things about.

I was so dissapointed when I went to see him play a few weeks ago. I hadnt heard the new album so I was expecting some groovy beats and such, but half the show was bland pop/rock songs.

Jury is still out on this one. Some of the tracks are really good and others I find difficult to listen to. I like the change I think, and I'm not ready to trash it. I don't think I'm quite ready to recommend it though.

His vocals are terrible on this. The Instrumental version of the album is quite nice, actually.
