Чт 18 Сен – Red Snapper

Совсем забыла рассказать, как я была на втором концерте Red Snapper за этот год. Концерт в феврале прошел на ура, несмотря на (ах да, мы уже не упоминаем звук в Б1)... Разумеется, не смогла пропустить и осенний концерт. И не пожалела. Конечно, в первые 10 минут казалось, что басы так долбили по легким, что хотелось скрыться подальше. Но потом то ли звук поправили, то ли тело привыкло к этим волнам и началась настоящая буря. Red Snapper звучали как то по другому, непохоже на прошлый концерт, но очень ожидаемо. Мощно, смело, громко. Отличный контакт с публикой, бесстрашные алкогольные выходки, драйв выступления. Вживую ребята звучат интереснее. Все прошло так, как надо! Поэтому жду нового альбома и нового турне.

Спасибо за новые композиции, спасибо за любимые композиции. Отдельное спасибо залу, публика на этом концерте очень порадовала!

Резюме концерту подвел мой товарищ (который слушает обычно что-то типа рэпкора): "Не, ну что... хороший концерт. А на тебя вообще как не посмотришь - ты в трансе!"

По-настоящему правильный бас – это когда чувствуешь его сначала почками, затем лёгкими, а потом и зубами.




Честно сказать, совсем не ожидал, что выступление Red Snapper заденет так сильно: студийные работы слушал давно, и большого впечатления они не произвели, так что на концерт шёл без фанатизма. Но, дьявол, они раскрутили ужасный звук Б1 до предела, взорвали зал отменным джанглом и утончённым ню-джазом, просто не представляю, как их барабанщик с этим справился. Новые треки это настоящие боевики, с яркой и жёсткой начинкой, которые не грех поставить на танцполе. А бас, который выдал Ali Friend, заставил кости дребезжать.
Серьёзно, такие события лучше не пропускать. Одни из лучших.

P.s. На этот раз без фотографий, всё так. Подлые охранники таки добрались до потайного дна.

Pia 19 IX – Koktebel Jazz Festival
только вернулся с фестиваля. первое что хочу сразу сказать, что фестиваль можно смело переименовывать в Koktebel Postrock Triphop Electrodub Festival. Конечно, спасибо за Nu Jazz сцену, это самое интересное что для меня было. Хотя ,отчасти это связано с тем, что на Волошинскую тупо нельзя было пробится. Эта идиотская вип-зона - полный отстой. Жалко, что как всегда на воскресенье не получилось остатся... небось самое интересное и было.
хотя вру, да. Red Snapper, вот что здорово. Ребята просто ворвались в воздушное пространство пляжа, это прекрасно, господа. Ну, об этом, наверное позже чуть. Еще Mamanet отлично на разогреве давали... о, и сразу вспоминается серия девушек с ньюджаз сцены, названия сейчас в пять утра сложно сказать. Одна такая с диджеем, одна такая с трипхопом и третья со скотчем. а на волошинской ничего и не слышал, видимо. И дааа! Конечно bekbenson! еще со времён ДоДжа я его обожаю, а тут - два дня подряд он на сцене. Прекрасно. хотя, снова-таки, практически единственное, что удалось послушать на открытой сцене.
ну и классика джазовых стандартов у Лившица - это такой, приятный свинговый вечер. вот, практически единственный настоящий джаз.
ну и плюс, конечно запомнились классные дядьки из охраны. Здоровенные, с биноклем, сигарой и воткой. Командос.
Да, и еще публика. Так приятно когда вокруг тебя столь много прекрасных людей, хороших, добрых и интересных.

Three years after their first album, Toob return with their new album "Push Me, Pull You", out in the shops today. The new album takes the audience on an exciting journey through melodic electronica, breaks, dub, afro-beats and punk funk. The album includes taster single "Clipto" (Released back in March), the follow-up single "Skinbox", gig-closer "The Toob Show", Bomb the Bass collaboration "Pirate Teeth" and DJ-favourite "Open The Gates".

Toob are Rich Thair (drummer of Red Snapper) and Jakeone (sometime collaborator with Red Snapper). Their acclaimed first album "How to Spell Toob" was released in 2005 on Lo Recordings. "Push Me, Pull You" is released TODAY on Process Recordings.

Toob have always been about combining an epic techno sound with their love of afro-beat, dub and real twisted punk funk. The electronic with the organic. This album sees them take this to a new level and pushing themselves both musically and production-wise. While Rich continues his quest for the perfect live break, Jake found his beaten up old bass, electric guitars... and his voice. In the clubs Jake had been experimenting using his vocals as another texture and a way to make the music a more direct and personal communication. On the record they've taken it further - enlisting the help of Alpha's Wendy Stubbs, her powerful harmonies bringing a new psychedelic gospel dimension to the music.

The album also features a track written with Tim Simenon of Bomb the Bass - the stealthy, breakbeat meets soundtrack monster "Pirate Teeth". It proved a successful collaboration and Jake and Rich both feature on BTB's album "Future Chaos", including BTB's new single "Burn The Bunker".</p><p>"Push Me, Pull You" has a big sound. On mixing duties, Jake has managed to capture the expanse and energy of the Toob live show and as the album deftly switches styles and tempos throughout, their combined experience as both musicians and producers shines through.

Чт 21 Авг – Tricky

В кошельке лежат билеты на Nu Note Lounge Fest, а из головы никак не идет концерт Tricky, на котором я была на прошлой неделе. Когда на концерте я вхожу в транс, это значит, что он удался. В феврале на Red Snapper у меня было медитативное состояние, но Tricky удалось минуя эту фазу через 20 минут выступления вогнать в психоделический транс. Я почти полностью погружалась в звук, не обращая внимания на толпу и на сцену, просто закрыв глаза... Энергетика исполнения пронизывала большинство слушателей. Кажется, еще полчаса после концерта я не могла придти в себя.
И мне неважно как он выгладел, вел себя, и что на сцене была новая вокалистка, что звук в Б1 каждый раз оставляет желать лучшего... Просто скажем Tricky спасибо за возможность его почувствовать.
