official bio reads:

Robert Deeble’s music has been described as “Wistful folk-pop, sparsely arranged, gracefully performed, and achingly beautiful to behold.” His art is one that conjures such influences as Leonard Cohen and Nick Drake and likened to contemporaries such as James William Hindle or Josh Rouse.

Robert’s last record “this bar has no one left” (Fractured Discs 2005) is an emotionally resonant work in the current realm of stripped down rock. The ep was recorded Spring 05 at Type Foundry studios in Portland with Adam Sezler (Norfolk and Western). Joining Robert on this recording is Rachel Blumberg (M. Ward, Decemberists) on drums and vocals, Amanda Lawrence (Norfolk) on viola, Todd Corbett (Tracker) bass, and Kris Rosintrader on drums.

Notable to Robert’s past recordings was the partnership of folk heroine Victoria Williams who joined Robert on his debut release and drummer Stephen Hodges (Tom Waits) who backed and produced his first two records. Following a three year hiatus. RobertÊresurfaced with a 7” Dylan cover of “Boots of Spanish Leather” which was picked up by BMG for the tribute “May Your Songs Always Be Sung III (2003).” His third full length “Thirteen Stories” released on the Fractured Discs label followed by the ep “this bar has no one left.”

Deeble has performed with the likes of: Low, Ida, Songs:Ohia, The Kingsbury Manx, Pedro The Lion, Shannon Wright, The Long Winters, Victoria Williams, Over The Rhine.
