  • 50 Questions About my Top 50

    20 Aug 2008, 20:56 by Haphasto

Found this on someone elses journal and thought it was would be kinda fun... for me atleast. So here we go! Of course my rankings are changing constantly, so this will be outdated after awhile, but oh well.

    1. How did you get into 29?
Gorillaz: Well the first time I heard them was when I was watching music videos on MTV2 in 2001, and PlayClint Eastwood came on. I immediately fell in love with it, and would definitely put it in my top 20 songs of all time. Basically after that I sampled a few of their songs, and ended up buying their first album.

    2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?

Godsmack: First song I heard was PlayVoodoo if I recall. Which is the song that turned me on to them.

    3. What’s your favorite lyric by 33?

Stone Temple Pilots: "I am smellin' like a rose that somebody gave me on my birthday death bed." From the song PlayDead And Bloated

    4. What is your favorite album by 49?
The Killers: Tough one... I like all of their albums, but I think their strongest has been Sam's Town

    5. How many albums by 13 do you own?
Rammstein: I own all of them except the live album.

    6. What is your favorite song by 50?
Children of Bodom: Too hard to say honestly, I haven't listened to them enough. Only started listening to them a couple months ago. PlayPunch Me I Bleed

    7. Is there a song by 39 that makes you sad?
Sevendust Their whole last album made me cry because it was dreadful.

    8. What is your favorite album by 15?
Queens of the Stone AgeSongs for the Deaf Great fuckin' album.

    9. What is your favorite song by 5?
    Mushroomhead: PlaySun Doesn't Rise

    10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy?
A Perfect Circle: They're a pretty depressing band, can't say that any songs do.

    11. What is your favorite album by 40?
    Dimmu Borgir:Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia

    12. What is your favorite song by 10?
    Pantera: PlayThis Love

    13. What is a good memory you have involving 30?
Pink Floyd: I listened to Floyd a lot my junior year of high school. And on Friday nights my friend who was also a fan would jam out to some Floyd on the way to the movies or wherever we were going.

    14. What is your favorite song by 38?
    Led Zeppelin: Kashmir

    15. Is there a song by 19 that makes you happy?
Sepultura: Absolutely not. I really don't enjoy Sepultura at all, with the exception of PlayRoots Bloody Roots and that song doesn't make me happy. I wish they weren't even on my top 50.

    16. How many times have you seen 25 live?
Serj Tankian: I've never seen him nor System of a Down live, though I would love to.

    17. What is the first song you ever heard by 23?
    (hed) Planet Earth: Blackout

    18. What is your favorite album by 11?

    19. Who is a favorite member of 1?
Metallica Kirk Hammett. He doesn't seem as big as a bitch as James or Lars, and he plays one mean fuckin' guitar.

    20. Have you ever seen 14 live?
The White Stripes Nope never have, and I really don't think I would pay to see them live.

    21. What is a good memory involving 27?
Slipknot: Hmmm, all of the depressed goth kids wearing Slipknot shirts in highschool lol. And listening to [album artist=Slipknot] Subliminal Versus Vol.3 constantly during A-School a few years ago.

    Static-X:Never have no

    32. Is there a song by 44 that makes you happy?
Trivium: Can't say there is... heh

    33. What is you favorite album by 12?
Rage Against the Machine: Rage Against the Machine A lot of people prefer the Grammy Award winning Battle of L.A. but I love every single song on their self titled.

Mechanical Animals is the one moment when everything came together.

    34. What is the worst song by 45? (Pearl Jam)
Audioslave I can't think of one honestly. There are a handful that I don't really prefer to listen to, but all of those rank the same to me so it's hard to say what's the worst.

    44. What is a good memory you have involving 46?
KoЯn: My senior year of high school some emo goth bitch tried to sing Freak on a Leash at a talent show and did a HORRID job, but that made it fucking hillarious.

    45. What is your favorite song by 35?
    Testament: PlaySouls of Black

    46. Is there a song by 9 that makes you happy?
Lamb of God: Hell no LOLOL. They have a bunch of songs that get me pumped, but not happy.

    47. What is your favorite album by 4?
    Alice in Chains: Dirt

    48. Who is a favorite member of 37?

  • "We are the cause of the world, that's gone wrong" - Serj Tankian, 11.04.08, klub…

    15 Apr 2008, 17:33 by kep0la

Moje niezwykle czułe ucho wychwyciło również kilka kawałków Serja, które płynęły w głąb sali, zapamiętałem Where the Streets Have No Name Axis Of Justiceoraz Get Up, Stand Up tegoż samego side-projectu Serja.
I oto pojawił się On :)
Serj swój występ rozpoczął niesłyszanym przeze mnie wcześniej Sounds Of War, dziwny był to utwór, pełen piskliwych popisów wokalnych Tankiana.
Jako następny kawałek Serj zagrał "Feed Us". Podobnie rzecz miała się przy następnych piosenkach: Lie Lie Lie, Saving Us, Baby i Sky Is Over to popis nie tyle wokalisty System of a Down, co właśnie publiczności zgromadzonej tego wieczora w Stodole.

  • Serj Tankian (With InMe) Amager Bio, Copenhagen 9. April 2008

    11 Apr 2008, 17:06 by Mindo91

Wed 9 Apr – Serj Tankian, InMe

Okay, this is a short review of the concert in Amager bio the 9th April, this is of course my opinion.. My english is far from perfect, so don't be too hard ;)

I went to the concert with 4 of my friends from my school. After waiting in line for about 1 hour, we got into the small club. Amager Bio have space for about 1000 people, and this night it was completely filled with hopeful fans.

Amager Bio opened the doors about 19.00 o'clock.
And after waiting for about 1 hour, the english progressive rock/emo band InMe entered the stage.

    InMe:

I don't know the band that well. When i found out that they were warming up for Serj Tankian i downloaded some of their music (The album Daydream Anonymous), I found the album OK, I wasn't that impressed, since it's not really my kind of music really. - But the important this is the concert:
I really can't remember the setlist, because all the songs sounded alike. The sound was horrible, you couldn't hear the singer, and the bass and drums were way too loud, It ruined the experience totally. But I was very impressed by the energy of the band. They were more energetic than the audience!
But that didn't change that I thought all in all the songs were boring, the sound was very bad, and I stood there, waiting for them to leave the stage!

After playing about 5-6 tracks, InMe left the stage about 21.15 o'clock.
The intensity were growing as everybody were very excited for Serj Tankian and the Flying Cunts Of Chaos to enter the stage. But we had to wait... And i mean wait a lot.
Serj And the FCC entered the stage at 22:00 o'clock, and people just went crazy.

Here is the setlist (Not in perfect order.. Help me??):

    Sounds Of War
    Empty Walls
    Saving Us
    Feed Us
    Baby
    Charades
    Sky Is Over
    Holiday in Cambodia
    Lie Lie Lie
Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition
    Honking Antelope

    Beethoven's C***
    - Encore -
    The Unthinking Majority
    Elect the Dead

Sounds of War, the opening track was just awesome! Serj voice was incredible and the sound was also very good. It was in my opinion a very, very good way to start the concert, because the track is pretty quiet, but also very experimental.
After playing Sounds of War, Serj said "Hello Copenhagen etc. etc." and a few seconds later, Empty Walls started. Which also turned out to be one of the highligts, the audience went crazy, and so did Serj and the band. The sound was not fantastic, I don't know why, but the energi was there, so I don't think that anybody really cared about the lack of sound quality.

this review is getting long, so I will make it pretty short:

The "lack of sound quality" continued for the rest of the show, but the concert was still very, very good. (One of the best i've ever been too). And Serj left the stage after playing Elect the Dead alone on his piano. This was a very good way to end the concert.

To mention some of the hightlight i've chosen these songs:

    - Beethovens C*** (The best song of the night, in my opinion)
    - Praise the Lord .... (I loved the very political intro, and the song were very heavy, and just awesome!!)
    - The Unthinking Majority (Great song, with great energy)
    - Sounds of War (Love the song, best way to start a concert ever!! :D)
    - Lie Lie Lie (overall just a great song, and a great performance)

If I have to grade the concert, Serj Tankian and the Flying Cunts Of Chaos would get a 5/6 since the sound wasn't perfect. But it was in my eyes an unforgetable performance.

    InMe gets 2/6

  • Podsumowanie roku 2007

    21 Dec 2007, 19:57 by GameOver_JV

    4. Velvet Revolver – Libertad
Płyta lepsza niż Contraband, który był dobry, a tu mamy wiele świetnych piosenek, szczególnie PlayLet It Roll i PlayGravedancer.

    3. Fuel – Angels & Devils

    2. Foo Fighters – Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace
Dwa genialne utwory, reszta dobra lub przynajmniej do przyjęcia i mamy właśnie ten album.

    1. Alter Bridge - Blackbird

    - Linkin Park – Minutes To Midnight
Na początku płyta mi się podobała, ale teraz trudno mi odsłuchać nawet Shadow Of The Day, a z innymi płytami Linkin Park tak nie mam, dlatego ta płyta jest dla mnie rozczarowaniem.

    - HIM – Venus Doom

    Najlepsze 10 Piosenek Roku*

    10. The White Stripes – Icky Thump
Bardzo chwytliwy riff i całkiem udana piosenka.

    9. Serj Tankian – Sky Is Over
    Najlepsza piosenka z płyty Tankiana.

    8. Apocalyptica – I Don't Care
Doskonały wokal Gontiera, piosenka lepsza, by była jednak w wykonaniu Three Days Grace, w którym śpiewa Gontier.

    7. Velvet Revolver – PlayLet It Roll
Świetna praca gitary Slasha, do tego dobry wokal.

    6. Lady Pank – Nie Mam Nic, Prócz Ciebie

    5. Hinder – PlayLips of an Angel

    4. Foo Fighters – PlayLong Road to Ruin
    Po prostu, bardzo solidna piosenka.

    3. Seether – Fake It
Świetnie wykonany utwór, z chwytliwym refrenem.

    2. Fuel – PlayWasted Time (G-Mix)
