The Broken Family Band have recorded 4 full-length albums, taking in country, indie rock, new wave, punk, metal and good old fashioned guitar pop.

They have released more than one album a year since they began, without giving up their day jobs. They built up a sizeable UK following without an agent (although they have one now, since selling out London’s Scala in 2006).

They’ve been championed on UK radio by John Peel, Mark Lamarr, Gideon Coe, Steve Lamacq, Phill Jupitus, John Kennedy, Charlie Gillett and Jonathan Ross. Without a major label or any kind of marketing budget they’ve been critically acclaimed so much that it has become embarrassing that they’re not famous.

Just as they built a reputation for their unique take on country music, filtered through indie rock, new wave, ‘skewed’ (do me a favour) guitar pop, whatever you want to call it, they dropped the American accents and banjos and hit their distortion pedals. Their latest album, HELLO LOVE is very pretty and it rocks hard.
