There is no doubt in my mind that that this is the best of the Velvets albums. It just has this amphetamine and heroin drenched aura that the others can't quite hold up too.

This album has always seemed raw and immediate to me, as well as being somewhat experimental, and self indulgent. Oh and drenched in heroin. All the cool kids are doing it! Still, I'm amazed they all managed to make an album, what with all that white light and heat going through their veins.

Wonderful. I prefer the debut (own but haven't yet heard the two after this, will rectify that soon), but this is phenomenal.
