They are generally considered to have been about 20 years ahead of their times, generating music that could still be considered on the bleeding edge today (due to the reliance on samples and sequencers, their concerts sound pretty much the same today as they did then). Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) and Ministry have cited them as major influences.

Their acoustic gig in Den Bosch was incredible. They played all of the Knock On Wood songs, plus a bunch more.

This is one of the coolest bands of the industrial scene; musically and lyrically interesting, kinda intellectual. Saw them live last year and just awesome.. Still have to check their latest unplugged album..

I used to take my vinyl copy of TV Sky down to my local indie youth club disco every friday night and beg the dj to play Skinflowers. I think he did play it once, inbetween James and Carter USM. I cummed.

Just a jaw droppingly great band that never seem to sound dated. Sadly i haven't seen them since the mid 90's when they were promoting the Only Heaven album. I would have loved to have seen them when they collaborated with Dälek recently as Gods and Griots.

often times experimental music is interesting and challenging for me to listen to, because it's unusual and complex, but not something i enjoy at the first listen or would relax to in my spare time. with the young gods, i have both these aspects, and that's not easy to find...

You say "yet always pleasant" as if experimental music usually isn't pleasant.

seminal innovators, cutting-edge experimentators, and yet always pleasant and interesting to listen to - never boring! i pay my respects
