U Brown is a dj born in Kinston, Jamaica in 1956. He discovers jamaican music following his father in the local bars, wich happen to be near the Treasure Isle studio. He begins mixing at the age of 15 for Philip Monroe at Sound Of Music. He beggins to get known with his early hits such as ‘’Wet Up Your Pants Foot’’ and ‘’Jah Jah whip them’‘. In 1975, he records his firts album ‘’Satta Dread’’ wich came out only in Jamaica and England.
During the 70’s, a lot of his songs are mixed by such artists as King Tubby and Prince Jammy. He created his own label (Hit Sound) at the end of the 70’s. During the 1980’s he moves to Miami to work with producer Kenneth Black. He eventualy moves back to home Jamaica to produce, record and sing.
