Urma is an alternative rock band from Cluj, Romania. Mani Gutau and Dan Byron, joined after by Dominic Csergo and Sorin Erhan, got together in 2003 for a project meant to reach the ones that were looking for an alternative to the music scene at the time. Their concept is simple: more than 2 hours of clean, live performance.
The first album Nomad Rhymes recorded in april 2003, became for the music industry a well acclaimed album. After the success of the appearance on the first edition of Stufstock, they decided to re-release Nomad Rhymes(10 december 2004).
The second album Anger as a Gift is released on the 1st of October 2005.
This new material is well received by the public and it’s promoted through an extensive tour, both in Romania and in Western countries like Germany, Denmark and France, throughout 2006.
Urma attends the 3rd edition of the Stufstock Music Festival and afterwards takes a well deserved break from live performances.
Trend Off, the band’s third album, was released on the 10th of December 2007, exactly three years after their first album, Nomad Rhymes. This time the team enlarged, as eleven musicians put their hard work into making the music for this album. It contains fourteen tracks and it was recorded, mixed and mastered at Amps Factory Studios in Freiburg - Germany.
It was long awaited and very well received by the public. Further Urma events are expected, which will surely come as a surprise to the public.
