About this track
A stunning hodge-podge of musical stylings, built upon the melody from the old shaker hymn from “Simple Gifts”, by Joseph Brackett. Weezer songwriter Rivers Cuomo hadn’t realized how similar his melody was to the aforementioned hymn until guitarist Brian Bell’s mother came into the studio and recognized the tune as a song her church’s choir used to sing.
