The American group White Heart has had one of the longest careers in Christian rock, beginning in 1982 with the release of their debut album WHITE HEART and lasting all the way to 1997, when their last album REDEMPTION was released. Through these years they have been considered among the pioneers of Christian rock, and their popularity has not wavered, despite frequent personnel changes. The band’s musical style is not totally straight-forwarded, as it includes a hint of progressiveness.
White Heart has never actually stated that they have disbanded, but there hasn’t been any consistent musical activity by them as a group since 1997. However, in August 2006 they had a reunion concert at the third annual Soul2Soul Honors event in New Albany, Indiana (Louisville, Kentucky), with the following line-up: Billy Smiley, Rick Florian, Mark Gershmel, Tommy Sims, Jon Knox and Gordon Kennedy.
Discography (with personnel history):
*WHITE HEART (1982 - Home Sweet Home/Myrrh)
*Gary Lunn - bass
*Steve Green - vocals
*David Huff - drums, percussion
*Mark Gershmel - keyboards, synthesizers, vocals
*Dann Huff - lead and rhythm guitars, vocals
*Billy Smiley - keyboards, rhythm guitars, vocals
*VITAL SIGNS (1984 - Home Sweet Home/Myrrh)
*Billy Smiley - piano, acoustic guitar, vocals
*David Huff - drums, percussion
*Gary Lunn - bass guitars
*Mark Gershmel - synthesizers, piano, vocals

Awesome - finally, a way to get the name fixed (or at least, to have only ONE name; hopefully the correct one, and hopefully WITH A PICTURE). I can vote, I can vote, *happy*happy*happy*!

That is the one you want. If you can, get the Rock and the Radio classics together. That should give you the best idea of White heart's musical flavor. The Nothing But The Best discs are the only compilations that White heart was actually a part of. All the others were put out by the labels.

There was talk way back when of going off the MB data, which supports aliases, but that day will probably never come. I tried to upload a real photo to the other version and update the text, but it was locked by the moderator, who apparently decided the matter authoritatively for us (but didn't care to fix the MB data, as has been pointed out).

P.S. Leviel - for some reason, last.fm don't seem to want to implement that feature. It has been discussed many times.

Bwahaha - after reading that FAQ, it seems that they have as little control over their name as they do their compilation releases! :-)

Well, does anyone know what to do to link the two spellings so that both redirect to the SAME artist page?

According to the official website FAQ, it's both. (http://www.whiteheart.com/whfaq.txt)

Actually the cover of Freedom makes it look like it is just one word. Redemption and Inside do the same thing.
