Questions about my top 50, v.2.
3 Jul 2008, 08:25 by b1ackroses
01. What's your favorite song by 15?
Blake Lewis: She's Makin' Me Lose It. It reminds me of Darren Hayes and/or Prince.
02. How did you get into 20?
98 Degrees: Oh, I have no idea. I probably saw them on tv or something. They're my favorite American boy band, without a doubt.
03. Who is your favorite member in 1?
Darren Hayes: Well, it's just him.
04. Whats your favorite lyric bit by 29?
Sophie Ellis-Bextor: Though I'm fool enough to love when you don't want me, I'm wise enough to know that you will always haunt me.
05. Have you ever seen 22 live?
Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx/Avenue Q: Unfortunately, no. I hope it doesn't close any time soon. :(
06. What's your favorite album from 10?
Fall Out Boy: From Under the Cork Tree.
07. Do you own any merchandise from 3?
Brandi Carlile: No! I should get some if I ever get some money.
08. What is a good memory you have of 7?
My Chemical Romance: Seeing them twice, once the first time I went to Warped and once during their headlining tour... They're awesome live.
09. Is there a member of the same age as you in 2?
Clay Aiken: It's just him, and he's nine years older than me. So no.
10. When did you first get into 8?
Bright Eyes: I stole Fevers and Mirrors from somebody at college on OurTunes, because I'd read about them in a magazine or something. I ended up really liking that album, even though it's weird.
11. Who likes 4 along with you?
Westlife: Uh, not many people. Marcy likes a few songs. Vern claims to like them but she says that about a lot of people when she's only heard like one song. I'm sort of alone on this one. And many others.
12. Which song did you first hear from 16?
Backstreet Boys: Quit Playing Games With My Heart. I heard it for the first time on the radio in my dad's truck, and he didn't think I should listen to them because they sounded like they were black. :/
13. What song made you fall in love with 5?
Savage Garden: Truly Madly Deeply, waaay back in the day.
14. Which song do you not like by 18?
Maroon 5: She Will Be Loved. It wasn't a great song to begin with, and then it was soo overplayed.
15. Why do like 14's songs?
Rufus Wainwright: I'm not sure. I actually find his voice to be a bit grating at times. I usually like the big ones... like Slideshow. His music is just unique and pleasant.
16. Where did you first hear 6?
Jimmy Eat World: No idea. Probably on the radio?
17. How long was 19 a singer before you liked them?
Michael Bublé: Quite a while. I was slow on the uptake with this one.
18. Does 13 have a song that gives you a bad memory?
The Spill Canvas: A lot of their songs make me kind of depressed. Does that count?
19. When did you get into 17?
Gavin Mikhail: A few years ago... Some random person sent me a message on myspace saying to check him out because I was a fan of Clay Aiken. I'm normally opposed to advertising like that, but they played the Clay card, so I gave it a chance. Turns out he's amazing.
20. How long have you been into 9?
bare: Not that long. Torrey got me into it.
21. If 11 had a concert 300 miles away, would you drive there to see them?

Scissor Sisters: Filthy/Gorgeous.
31. What is your favorite single by 25?
Matchbox Twenty: Back 2 Good.
32. If 49 hated you, what would you do?
Dashboard Confessional: First, be surprised that they cared that much... Actually, that's about it. I don't listen to them enough to care. I have no idea how they got so high on my charts.

45. Does 47 have a song that makes you want to dance?
Thursday: No, not really.
46. Have you ever seen 34 in person?

Lyrics quiz - Are you hip to my jive?
12 Jun 2008, 03:44 by elphaba_thropp
Ok guys, I know I know my own playlist, but do YOU know my playlist? Well here is your opportunity to find out. Whoever guesses the most correctly wins! Don’t cheat by using any other source to find out the songs! Whenever someone guesses one right, I’ll put the song title next to the lyric and the name of the person who guessed. Some of them are really easy while others are harder. Good luck!
Step 1: Put your iTunes or equivalent on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
Step 3: Bold the lyrics when someone guesses correctly.
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!!!

Hi!
It's Summer. I've been out of school for a few weeks now. Thanks to that, I've been wasting away while watching random movies. Thanks to those movies, I've stumbled upon some new artists and songs that I hadn't heard of. And so.. That is the purpose of this journal. (:
1.
Inches and Falling by The Format
Movie: Wedding Daze
This is the opening song for the movie. Catches you're attention really. Very catchy. The song is about being in love and not caring what it does to you. The chorus: "I love love, I love being in love I don't care what it does to me." It's vague, I know. But if you dissect and analyze the song, you begin to understand the meaning behind the words. (That's a joke.)
2.
Bright Side by Lissie
This song is also from Wedding Daze. This came on after the credits and after the previous "Inches and Falling" song. What made me take notice of this is that it starts "It's just me and my puppy. Together were so very happy." Cute right? Puppies. Ah, I can't wait until I get a puppy and be able to sing this song from the heart of pure joy. Or I can change it up and get a kitten. "It's just me and my kitten." Yeah
3.
Any Other Way by The Captains Intangible
Movie: Diary of the Dead
This was in the credits after the movie. The intro does kind of give me the keeps a bit. Makes me think of Silent Hill. But only the intro. The rest of the song is okay.. but the chorus got my attention after the verses lost it. yup.
4.
Promise (Reprise) by Akira Yamaoka
Movie: Silent Hill
Silent Hill!! Super cool movie which is based on a game. I've never played the games but I really liked the movie. Well, the movie used the same music thats in the game. This song is a simple song, you can say, but it sticks with you.
5. You're Not Here by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn
I just really like the intro and guitar and.. ok, I like everything except the actual voice part. It was in the Silent Hill movie as well.
6.
Through the Roof 'n' Underground by Gogol Bordello
Movie: Wristcutters: A Love Story
This song was played throughout the movie really. Especially while they were in the car. I think because they emphasized the song and played it almost repeatedly made it subconsciously crawl into your brain and stick with you. I like. Fun.
7. Youpi by Kid Loco feat. someone i cant remember. sorry.
Movie: Happy Endings
Awesome song. I love it. So much. Especially the parts where she sorta screams "Youpi." It's in French so I have no idea what she's saying. My mom even loves this song. Though she thought she was saying "Yippie" through the whole thing. But then someone told me that "Youpi" is like a French variation of "Yippie"?? Is that true? Then why would she be screaming "Yippie" like that? It's like one of those life or death screams. Love it.
8. Anyone Else But You by The Moldy Peaches
Movie: juno
Yup. Pretty sure most people who've seen the ever so popular Juno movie recognizes this song. Nice little Ditty.
-- Juno.. You know, In another movie called The Descent (SEE that movie. It's good.), one of the main characters names was Juno. She's (Natalie Mendoza) Australian in reality but in the movie I think she was playing American while her friends were Irish (or was is Scottish?) and Swedish I think? But anyways, she gets a rock climbing pick in the leg by her best friend. Yup. Must have hurt. Back on task: The Juno movie with Ellen Page was okay to me.
9. "Popular", "Defying Gravity", and "What is This Feeling? (Loathing)" by The Wicked Cast.
From Wicked The Musical play
Of the whole play, I liked those songs best. "Popular" has to do with Galinda (Glinda the Good Witch of the North from the wizard of oz) helping Elphaba (The Wicked Witch of the West) to be popular. You can imagine how much of a burden being green can be.
"What is This Feeling" is about Elphaba and Galinda hating each other. You see, they've accidentally been assigned as roommates at their school.
"There's been some confusion for you see my roommate is..
Galinda: Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and all together quite impossible to describe
Elphaba: Blonde."
"Defying Gravity" Well, she can fly.. Hence gravity being defied.
10.
White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane
Movie: Go Ask Alice
This song was mentioned in the book too. I think. I don't remember.
Trippy right? Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship is great in general anyways.
11.
Mad World by Gary Jules
Movie: donnie darko
original:
Mad World by Tears for Fears
"The dreams in which I'm dieing are the best I've ever had."
My mind aches from watching that.
"I love love
I love being in love." -
