1. How did you get into 29?
Earth were recommended to me by a friend a few years ago when we were having a discussion about what were the heaviest albums we had ever heard. (My contribution was Merzbow but can't remember which album.)

2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
Cat Power "The Greatest"

3. What's your favorite lyric by 33?
The joint entries for 33, Larsen and The Jimmy Cake, are both instrumental bands! The Jimmy Cake have some great titles though.

4. What is your favorite album by 49?
I only have one Selda Bagcan album which is good but not something I'd call a favourite.

5. How many albums by 13 do you own?
Strangely enough, I own 13(!) Swans albums.

6. What is your favorite song by 50?
Napalm Death "You Suffer"

7. Is there a song by 39 that makes you sad?
There were when I was a teenager, Nine Inch Nails are one of those bands that kind of lose their power as you grow up.

8. What is your favorite song by 15?
It's hard to pick a favourite Scott Walker song. Something from his last two albums anyway.

9. What is your favorite song by 5?
Undoubtedly "Joan Of Arc" by the Melvins. It is all that is heavy.

10. Is there a song by 6 that makes you happy?
Many! PJ Harvey, while what she sings about isn't always happy, is an artist that always lifts my spirits. "A Perfect Day Elise" is a perennial favourite.

11. What is your favorite album by 40?
Burzum Aske

12. What is your favorite song by 10?
Dirty Three To Aster!. I'm always asking for it at their gigs when Warren Ellis asks what do we want him to play. He never plays it.

13. What is a good memory you have involving 30?
Hehe, going to see Wolf Eyes of course!

Einstürzende Neubauten: Alexander Hacke for his tour guide skills but when making music, they are all equal.

I've seen Mick Harvey both with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and with PJ Harvey but never solo.

21. What is a good memory involving 27?
Seeing them (A Silver Mt. Zion) live with my friend Marc. We stood at the feet of one of the violin players and all three of us shared a moment of rolling our eyes to the heavens as two very drunk people discussed the concept of something not being dark but "Christmas Dark".

22. What is your favorite song by 16?
I love Martyn Bates' arrangements of James Joyce's poems.

Sun Ra "Imagination"

The Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

While I like Tom Waits, I don't really have a favourite song. Most of his music I can take or leave and any of the songs I like I don't really remember.

I can't remember, it was a long time ago when I first listened to Fairport Convention.

Coil Astral Disaster or Horse Rotorvator or Love's Secret Domain or... I could go on.

Impossible to choose. Current 93 is a vocation, not a popularity contest.

Michael Gira: Outside of Swans, it was whatever the first track on the album he did with the guy from Windsor for the Derby.

Never seen Can but I once saw Damo Suzuki with The Jimmy Cake which was better than Can ever were...

Most of A Hawk and a Hacksaw's music is quite melancholy. I am happy to hear it but it doesn't make me happy when I listen.

Michael Cashmore, no. I nearly got to see Current 93 next month in Italy but they've cancelled so now I've just got a trip to Italy with no music planned.

Nurse With Wound She and Me Fall Together in Free Death

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, not exactly happy music but "Wonderful Life" makes me feel good about myself.

I don't particularly have a favourite Spires That in the Sunset Rise album.

Anything off the last two Grails albums is amazing.

44. What is a good memory you have involving 46?
None. I can't even remember who Vedette are!

Number 35 is a mislabelled entry that is actually a compilation from Touch Records.

46. Is there a song by 9 that makes you happy?
Many but none as much as Bonnie 'Prince' Billy's song with Matt Sweeney, "Beast for Thee".

48. Who is a favorite member of 37?
Kevin Shields I suppose (My Bloody Valentine just in case you don't know, shame on you if you thought I was referring to Primal Scream!)
