yeah I feel ya. too many idiots have charts filled exclusively with little known black metal bands and won't even consider any other type of music, even if its a sub genre of black metal. its refreshing to see someone like you with tastes as varied as mine

well i kinda explained it wrong, but yeah, that's just the elements of the band that most appeal to me... anyway i reduced the amount of grunges on my page, just for you....

no way, I totally see placebo as grunge :O seriously, they're in a genre completely of their own, but i'd say they tick most of the grunge boxes, as i said before lyrics about alienation and personality disorders, loud/quiet/loud contrasts with reverbed guitars, sludgey bass riffs, even the dress sense to an extent (when brian's dressed as a man that is of course)

three of my top five favourite bands (smashing pumpkins, nirvana, placebo) have been categorized that way/tagged it on this site or have grungey aspects to their music (lrics about social alienation and confinement, contrasting of distorted and clean guitar effects in songs etc.) so i thought it was a category that i should mention as being a favourite. i overplayed that a little i'll admit
