Focus never blew me away (until recently), but the new album is very different. I'd just call it progressive metal. The death and thrash influences are virtually non-existent. This album is far more mellowed it than Focus. And rather than being about 50/50 with growl/robo vocals, this one is about about 70/30 with cleanrobo/growl. But the robo-ness is significantly decreased and far less annoying. I suggest you give it a spin though. It's a wholly different experience from Focus.
