One of the most important element of The Beatles (which makes them so good) is their musical evolution. Listen to their debut, Please Please Me, which a collection of lowly pop tunes, then listen to Revolver - an amazing experimental medley of highly original rockers. Sure, Pink Floyd may have never "sold out," or have been "commercialized" except on The Wall maybe, but that doesn't render them superior to the Fab Four: they may have had that unique "Floyd Sound," but that's just one thing! They released great, great album like Animals, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn and DSOTM, but there have been better. They are special, but not absolutely out of any category like The Beatles were at their time.

Let's talk in terms of originality. Can you agree with me on the fact that The Beatles were far superior from Pink Floyd in that category?

About DSOTM: you may not be able to compare Pink Floyd and The Beatles for the different genres, but they are both rock musicians. However, in terms of listenability and originality, every Beatles album tops DSOTM (except maybe Please Please Me and The Beatles For Sale, but that's only two album).
